King's Lynn report (28 January - 1 February)

From th 26th January to the 1st February, a delegation coming from the Liceo Statale “G. Marconi” - Pescara  participated to the international meeting for the Comenius project "History in the Present" which was held in the English town of King's Lynn.

The delegationwas composed by six students attending different fourth classes, Gianluca Bufo 4BST, Stefania Mancini 4ASS, Angela Marku 4ALL, Martina Palma 4ALP, Valeria Serafini 4BLP, Federica Starinieri 4DLL, the teacher of French Conversation, Luigina Galullo, and me, Assunta Di Cintio teacher of Natural Sciences.

 
We started this experience of Comenius multilateral in the UK; the countries involved, as well as Italy and Great Britain, were Spain and the Czech Republic.

Other teachers in my Liceo had logistical contacts earlier, organized activities and students transfer .

The school that hosted the activities of the project was the College of West Anglia, King's Lynn.

We had a beautiful time. The English climate, which in January does not excel in mercy, gave us sun, no rain and just a little of the wind of the north.

We experienced good days in which we felt the enthusiasm, the desire to learn and to engage with new cultures, the desire to get involved for both students and teachers.

This has emerged both in moments of games and touristy experience and in group work, where students worked together on the project.

The theme of the project, "History in the Present," was about the art and monuments of the countries of the students involved. The European language of communication chosen was English.

Within the project, several activities have been planned:

• Online activities among students to present themselves, their school, their city and their region with photos, videos and texts;
• The study of art and Romanesque monuments in Abruzzo;
• Preparation of research materials in digital form;
• Joint activities to be carried out during the exchange in the host country.

Purposes:

• to provide to students the opportunity to exchange with people coming from other European countries in order to promote understanding and acceptance of different cultures and ways of life different from their own;
• to motivate the students in the study of foreign languages;
• to understand the importance of the study of history, art, monuments of their own region;
• to improve the language skills of both teachers and students;
• -to allow to the Liceo to obtain an European dimension

Dal 26 gennaio al 1 febbraio una delegazione del Liceo Statale “G. Marconi” -Pescara  ha partecipato all’incontro internazionale relativo al progetto Comenius “History in the Present” che si è svolto nella cittadina inglese di King’s Lynn. 

Insieme a 6 studenti di classi quarte diverse: Gianluca Bufo 4BST, Stefania Mancini 4ASS, Angela Marku 4ALL, Martina Palma 4ALP, Valeria Serafini 4BLP, Federica Starinieri 4DLL, ed una collega docente di conversazione di Francese, Luigina Galullo, io, Assunta Di Cintio docente di Scienze Naturali, ho intrapreso questa esperienza Comenius  multilaterale in Gran Bretagna;  i paesi coinvolti, oltre all’Italia e alla Gran Bretagna, sono stati la Spagna e la Repubblica Ceca.

Altri docenti del mio Liceo avevano avuto contatti organizzativi in precedenza, e si erano occupati di organizzare le attività e la sistemazione logistica degli studenti.

La scuola che ha ospitato le attività delle 4 delegazioni è stata il College West Anglia di King’s Lynn.

Si sono succedute belle giornate. Anche il clima inglese, che nel mese di gennaio non eccelle in clemenza, ci ha regalato sole, niente pioggia e solo un po’ di vento del Nord.

Abbiamo vissuto giornate in cui si percepiva l’entusiasmo, l’aspirazione di conoscere e confrontarsi con nuovi posti e nuove culture, la voglia di mettersi in gioco sia da parte degli studenti sia da parte di noi insegnanti.

Tutto questo è emerso sia nei momenti ludici e prettamente turistici delle esperienze, sia nei lavori di gruppo, in cui gli studenti hanno lavorato insieme sul progetto.

Il tema del progetto, “History in the Present”, è  stato l’arte e i monumenti dei paesi di origine degli studenti coinvolti. La lingua europea di comunicazione prescelta è stata l’inglese.

All’interno del progetto sono state previste diverse attività:

- attività online fra studenti per presentare se stessi, il proprio istituto, la propria città e la propria regione con foto, video e testi;

- studio dell’arte e dei monumenti romanici in Abruzzo;

- preparazione dei materiali di ricerca su supporto digitale;

- attività in comune da svolgersi in occasione dello scambio nel paese ospitante.

Finalità:

-        offrire agli studenti l'occasione di scambio e confronto con  coetanei provenienti da altri paesi europei al fine di favorire la comprensione  e l'accettazione di culture e modi di vivere differenti dai propri;

-        motivare maggiormente gli alunni nello studio delle lingue straniere;

-        comprendere l’importanza dello studio della storia, dell’arte, dei monumenti della propria regione;

-        incrementare le competenze linguistiche di alunni e docenti;

-        far acquisire al Liceo una dimensione europea.
