České Budějovice: Rosanna's report

A wonderful day in Prague
On Saturday 29/03/2014 we left Pescara by bus together with our three students Miriam Mancini, Letizia Di Battista and Caterina De Luca heading to Fiumicino airport in Rome, ready for the new meeting in the Czech Republic and happy to see our European Partners.

A wonderful day in Prague
We all met in Prague at the hostal that the Czech coordinator, Prof. Jan Muzik, had advised us to book in: quite a basic accomodation, but the opportunity to spend a night in that fascinating city.

Meeting our Spanish, French, Polish, German and Turkish friends swept all away the lack of comforts!  What an enchanting city! What a lovely time we had!

České Budějovice

On Sunday 30 we reached České Budějovice led by a thrilled Jan and were lodged in the beautiful Budweis Hotel where we also had dinner with tasty and delicious food (for me the first authentic goulasch).

All the students were hosted by their Czech partners and were all enthusiastic by the warm welcome they had received.

On Monday 31 we met at the school lecture hall and were greeted by the school headmaster and Jan.

After a tour of the building we attended the presentation of the Spanish and Polish teams’ works and in the afternoon were joined by the English partners.

Later the Major of the town welcomed us at the Town Hall with plenty of information about České Budějovice history and development through the centuries.

On Tuesday 1st April  Jan led us to an interesting tour of the Budweiser/Budwar brewery: a successful local big factory which exports its products all over the world.

Back to school we attended the presentation of the Italian, German, French, English and Turkish teams’ works (our Miriam, Letizia and Caterina did their best and we felt very proud of them… thanks to prof. Cianci, too!).

In the afternoon the students were split into two groups and involved in a photo safari around the main square.

On Wednesday 2 we had an early wake up to go to Cesky Krumlow and once we got there we realised it was really worthwhile!

Cesky Krumlow
A beautiful little historical town surrounded by impressive scenery of mountains and a river flowing in between, now recognised as one of the UNESCO sites:

we visited the Seidel historical Photo studio and after lunch we walked up on the hill to the castle for a magnificent view of the place.

We were all willing to spend more time there, but our journey back was planned and on the way we were offered dinner at a local microbrewery: very kind of our Czech colleagues!!

On Thursday 3 we first visited an ancient monastery following an exhaustive guide, then attended the presentation of the Czech team and later spent other time with our partners exchanging opinions and impressions about the good works the students had done.

Our last evening in Ceske was made great by an unforgettable farewell party organized in collaboration with a Tourism School
The great Jan dancing

a luxurious buffet, an energetic cover band and a warm involving atmosphere are still impressed in our memory… and in our pictures!

On Friday 4 … goodbye to everybody and back home
