First of all I’d like to thank my colleagues Mrs. Rossella Cianci and
Mr. Bruno Garelli for involving me in the Comenius Project, and in
particular for inviting me to Speyer.
Although I was born and
grew up in Germany, I had never been there before and so it was a double
emotion for me accompanying the students and visiting Speyer. I must
admit that my first impression of it was that of a tranquil city with
its very nice historical centre and it seemed to me that all the people
were smiling at any time. Perhaps this was due to the extraordinary
courtesy they showed when you addressed to them.
With regard to
the project I have to say that it was the first time I participated in
the meetings. I was impressed by the students’ huge work in creating and
presenting their slides and/or films. I may be wrong, but I had the
impression that they enjoyed very much what they were doing, beyond
learning new words and improving their skills in English.
I’d also
like to compliment the German colleagues on the whole organisation and
I’m sure that all the hosting teams are doing an excellent job. The
planning of all the activities requires a lot of patience, creativity
and time, of course. It’s not easy to manage all this together with the
normal working life and the coordination of the students’ work.
To
summarize my experience: it was a very interesting journey which
enriched me both from the professional and the human point of view.
