Cornellà: Valentina and Sivia's report

Valentina's report

Last year I started partecipating to the Comenius project.

Along with other students I had to host a foreign student. My partner came from France and communicating was hard at first because I don't speak French and she spoke very little English and Spanish.

Eventually we got to know each other and talking was the least of the problems. During the week of her stay we went to school in the morning and stayed with the other kids in the afternoon when we organized various activities to have fun all together.

In november the project continued and this time I got the opportunity to go to a foreign country. I went to Spain, in Barcelona. There I was hosted by a Spanish girl with whom I got very close in a really short time. As well as in Italy, Spanish students organized various activity both in the centre of Barcelona and in the small city where they lived, Cornellà, and we enjoyed ourselves during every activity.

I still keep in contact with my Spanish partner and I hope I can see her as soon as we both finish school.
This experience was beautiful and unforgettable and I wish I could do it all over again.

Silvia's report in English

I think that Comenius is an incredible and an understated project.

Its a great linguistic, social and cultural experience for guys. One guy can have a cultural exchange staying in the house of another guy of another nation (and viceversa). At the and of the project, even if with some difficulties, guys can achieve to have strong relationship.

A really important part of the project is the tour in the city with the presentation of the most important monuments and typical products.

In my opinion this is a very important project because I could improve three languages ( such as English, Spanish and German) and because I've known kind and sweet families, teachers and Spanish girls. At last I really enjoined this Journey. When I came back home I felt different, I felt myself changed. I suggest this experience to everyone who loves travelling and have new experience. I’m sure that Comenius is a project that would change everyone in the deep.

Claudia Tricca

My experience in Spain was fantastic!!!
When I arrived in Cornellà and I met my "new" family I was very shy ,but immediately they made me feel like a daughter .The girl that hosted me, Lucìa was very friendly, funny, extrovert with me, so I was at ease with
her. During these days also her parents were friendly and polite, in fact they spoke with me and asked me a lot of things about my country.  Besides they bought some Spanish food for me and they wanted to learn some Italian words. Lucía is very intelligent, in fact she was the only girl in the Comenius group that learned a lot of Italian words.
I also visited a lot of monuments and beautiful places, so I decide to return to Barcelona sooner or later, because this city is really wonderful!!! When I had to leave my friends we were all very sad, but Lucía and the others girls promised that in summer they will come to Pescara.
Before this experience I was insecure, now I would repeat that 1000 times!!!

Benedetta Gaspari

Before leaving for Spain I was a little insecure because I didn't know my new friend's family and I never lived this type of experience. When I arrived in Cornellà I saw my friend and her mother, they were smiling and they soon hugged me. I was a bit scared because I didn't know how to communicate. My friend in fact can't speak good English and I can't speak Spanish, fortunately we found a way to understand each other. It was very funny! Their house was small but full of lights. I shared the room with the girl that hosted me. Our room was very colored and funny. Since the beginning I found my new friend very nice, all the members of the family were very friendly and caring. I visited a lot of monuments and I was enthusiastic. Unfortunately one day I felt sick because I had eaten too much.
In conclusion I liked very much this experience. I really hope the Spanish group will come to Italy next Summer.
My first cultural exchange was unforgettable!

Chiara Di Battista

On 3rd november we went to the Abruzzo airport at 1 pm. After the check-in, we took the plane at about three. When we arrived at the Girona airport, we took a bus which was directed to a station which is called Estación del norte. The trip was stressful and boring, especially because of the traffic.
However, after 2 hours we finally arrived at our destination. Spanish girls were waiting us anxiously at the station and we were recognized immediately. I met Iciar, her mother and her brother... We went to their house in Sant Feliu de Llobregat after 30 minutes because their house was far away to the station. I was tired but the family prepared for me kebab, pizza, a lot of cold cuts and salad with eggs and tuna. I couldn't believe that! The dinner was delicious. Later Iciar and I went to see some bars and places, for example the square. At 11 pm we came back home and we made a long conversation about us, to meet better each-other. After that we went to sleep. The first day was fantastic and I understood that week would have been wonderful.
